Although good guys Jim and Levi Goode cater to Houstonians’ favorite food groups with their first-class barbecue and seafood, it’s their taqueria that serves our addictions: burgers and Mexican food. We’ve indulged in countless dress-our-own burgers and crispy onion rings here, but recently we opted for another favorite, mesquite-grilled-chicken tacos, and a worthy newcomer, enchiladas verdes. For starters, it was frozen margaritas, of course (look for bargain pitcher prices at happy hour). There’s probably no place more typical of inside-the-Loop casual dining than this beer-sign- lit patio, where kiddos toss coins in a fountain and you’re likely to run into someone you know.
