We’re nostalgic for the old Crescent City–style decor, but the new two-story building has large windows that let in light and offer a view. And Daddy’s still serves up its lively Cajun cuisine and famous fried shrimp. A crowd calls for the seafood botana, a platter filled with fried fish, shrimp, and oysters and a heap of french fries. The seafood gumbo is another must, with a rich roux and plenty of shrimp and fish. Daddy’s also has a market, so you can take the fun home with you. (9/12)
