Settling into a comfy velvet banquette, we could hardly believe that this was a humble car repair shop in a former life. Flavorful roasted beets gave a rosy hue to a salad that also included bits of orange, feta, and pistachio brittle. Ethereal gnocchi came adorned with slivers of Windy Meadows chicken, mushrooms, and spinach, all of it swimming in a broth laced with tomato jam and tarragon. An oat lace cookie added a nice crunch to a grapefruit panna cotta incorporating local honey. We like the mindset here; small fuse boxes are planted with cactus in lieu of fresh flowers. The lovely patio area will be humming when the weather is warm. (3/13)
