We think Indika’s meltingly tender roasted pork belly seasoned with garam masala is perhaps the best street food in the world. Paired with a Kingfisher beer, it made a perfect appetizer for our “sit down” at this Montrose palace of Indian fusion. Next we indulged in halibut roasted with ginger, garlic, and a saffron coconut broth and a perennial favorite, slow-cooked lamb shank with mustard potatoes and okra. Equally irresistible: complimentary sides of naan, lentils, and raita spiked with minced green apples. Warm tones, high ceilings, and panels of sheer fabric make an inviting indoor setting; the patio offers a lively street scene. (9/13)
