For a respite from the noise and rush of most modern-day restaurants, locals head to Madden’s for its romantic atmosphere and exquisite food and wine. The sophisticated menu rivals that of many big-city destinations, with offerings ranging from a breakfast crab cake Benedict to a ceviche of shrimp and roasted tomatoes. We opted for the seared sea scallops with corn risotto—flavorful, but a bit salty. The tender beef tenderloin, though, rubbed with chocolate, chiles, and coffee was melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
