Housed in a turn-of-the-century former residence, this cozy Museum District eatery is named after chef-owner Chris Williams’s great-grandmother, Lucille Bishop Smith, who purportedly invented the first hot-biscuit mix. We skipped the signature chili biscuits, going straight for a delightful watermelon-arugula salad with pistachios and feta. Of the two generous entrées, the herb-roasted chicken served with divine roasted kale and fingerling potatoes took top honors. Shrimp and grits sported perfectly poached shrimp and bits of spicy andouille sausage, but the overly buttery grits and rich seafood broth were a bit over the top, even for a seasoned Southern belle.
