Le Bilboquet
The menu of this bright, sunny bistro is about as French as it gets; gone are the dark draperies and somber decor of L’Ancestral (especially attractive is the Matisse dominating the wall). Not particularly French was a caprese salad, but it was nonetheless tasty. We liked the hanger steak with a red wine–shallot sauce; those with smaller appetites will do well with an egg white omelet, pommes frites, and a lovely salad. Some at the table loved the profiteroles, others thought them mundane. (9/13)
