Texas Turns 175
The March 2011 issue of Texas Monthly celebrated Texas’s 175th year of independence with the ultimate Lone Star road trip: an itinerary of 175 moments in time—and exactly where they occurred—that tell the story of Texas. To commemorate the launch of this special issue, Texas Monthly invited guests to celebrate at The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum featuring an evening of delicious bites, phenomenal libations, live music by Two Hoots and a Holler, and Texas tributes. Guests sipped on signature cocktails courtesy of Dripping Springs Vodka, Hornito’s Tequila, Llano Estacado Winery, Maker’s Mark, Shiner, and Treaty Oak Rum and dined on the quintessential Texas grub, mini sliders, frito pie and Dr. Pepper and Blue Bell Ice Cream floats. 2011 King Ranch Ford F-150s were proudly displayed as party-goers captured memories of the evening’s merriment with instant photo strips compliments of boothBOOTH, and walked away with fabulous Texas swag bags.
