2011 Texas Monthly BBQ Festival

If you were near the City Terrace of the Long Center on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin on October 30 you could not miss the intoxicating aromas of mesquite, pecan, and hickory smoke drifting from the second annual Texas Monthly BBQ Festival. Some 3,000 revelers strolled the festival grounds sampling delicious BBQ from 22 different joints, the majority of which were included on Texas Monthly’s most recent list of the state’s best BBQ establishments.
