While cruising Old Route 66, make sure to brake for the GLC. This historic cafe is an original on the Mother Road, where little has changed in its 66 years (nice coincidence, that). A trip across the Lone Star State would truly be remiss without a bowl of red—by itself, on top of a burger or fries, or, even better, smothering a Frito pie. The menu is mostly all-American burgers and fries with a few nods to our neighbors in New Mexico. Seating is limited but smiles are abundant. (6/13)
