Though perhaps not as grandiose as its namesake, this strip mall restaurant is elegant in its own way. We were disappointed that the Madras soup (a spiced coconut-tomato mix) didn’t offer more flavor. But we loved the kachumber salad, with its colorful tomatoes, cucumber, onions, and green peppers, as well as the spinach pakora and the chicken tikka masala. For dessert, we tried the badam kheer, an almond pudding with milk and raisins, and gulab jamun, reminiscent of a very sweet doughnut hole in honey-flavored syrup.
