A block off the Strand, this informal hotel restaurant, with its adjacent bar, is our favorite for mellow conversation. Sandwiches, salads, and breakfast standards dominate the menu board, but we opt for the kitchen’s specialty: flatbread pizzas sporting such delectable combinations as pear, blue cheese, and walnuts and mushrooms in truffle oil.
