Colorful and eclectic, this Mexico City–style bistro is a favorite deep in the heart of Montrose, especially for cocktails and weekend brunch on the patio. Expect a menu that ranges widely, from lamb barbacoa to snapper Veracruz. Order this to go: Crispy, tightly rolled beef flautas covered in chopped lettuce and thick, tangy queso fresco is a delectable choice you could make a meal of. Also good for transport: Las Tres Damas, three queso fresco enchiladas brightened with red, green, and creamy corn salsas. Although a bit chewy, pork carnitas with corn tortillas satisfied our gang with its garnish of chopped onions and cilantro (request the searing green sauce to jazz it up). Skip the guacamole, but order any dish starring the real-deal refried black beans. Pro tip: The online ordering form can be a little confusing, so if you don’t see what you want, give them a call.
