A specialty bakery—with many gluten-free goodies—is just what the doctor ordered for Tyler. But certain aspects are puzzling: the children’s play area is well stocked, but the chairs (where their parents sit sipping coffee) are strangely uncomfortable. The desserts are outstanding, but the sandwiches are unremarkable (our chicken pesto panino made with yummy house-baked bread was enjoyable only after the bland, stringy chicken was removed). Owner Amanda Lockman uses local, fair-trade, and organic ingredients and donates proceeds to charities that promote social justice. (2/13)
