The techniques and menu suggest France, but hints of the proprietor’s South American background pop up on the menu (try the Pisco punch) at this boutique restaurant loaded with amiable, informal character. Entrées as diverse as duck with olives (succulent but light on the olives) and truly tender beef tenderloin churrasco, skewered with mushrooms and green peppers, left us well satisfied; other (untried) entrées include lobster and two takes on lamb. Appetizers proved a high point; we enjoyed both the sautéed mixed mushrooms with arugula and the lobster spring roll. In short, Bite blends good service, French cuisine, Chilean character, and friendly warmth. Who could ask for more? (2/15)
