Better arrive early, because the tables fill up fast and the hard-surfaced room (anchored by an Antone’s Po’Boy mural from this building’s other famous tenants) roars with noise. Guests are still clamoring for the upscale-casual menu of unique bites, like the platters of global cheese, bread, and house-made charcuterie served with unusual accompaniments like cabbage marmalade and marjoram pesto. The puffy pizzas are also quite popular; ours was simple and delicious, with heirloom tomatoes and three kinds of first-rate cheese (though it was a bit pale and underbaked). Chilled asparagus vichyssoise with crab meat was dreamy, and the morel-crusted halibut with pea shoots was glorious; we only wished the latter wasn’t such a small portion, considering the fairly hefty price.
