Tucked away in a renovated machine shop, this dark and swanky bistro packs a wallop for the palate. Silken baby octopus, charred just enough, mingles with baby purple potatoes and pearl onion in a shallow pool of spicy watercress aioli. That and another starter, the crispy spheres of blue crab–risotto arancini with a deft inclusion of Parmesan, could make a meal if one’s tablemates didn’t insist on sharing. A clever deconstructed chicken pot pie finds slices of tender, truffle-laced ballotine wrapped in prosciutto and accompanied by a fluff of watercress and burnished puff pastry, all nestled against carrot puree. Little swooning noises can be heard at the first bite of bouillabaisse, its thick, savory-spicy tomatoey broth bathing juicy pieces of grouper, Gulf shrimp, and stone crab, with grilled sourdough to mop up the goodness.
