Solo’s name is an acronym for the revitalizing South Longview neighborhood, rather than a directive regarding the number of sandwiches one may order. The third venture for Zahck Israel and Chad Nevils (they also own Ollie’s Skate Shop, and Nevils and his wife own a bookstore and wine shop), this is their first foray into the culinary category. With its modern, white-painted brick exterior and minimalist design, Solo has an endearingly charming and fun vibe. The menu is smallish but covers the basics for the sandwich lover, including a Ham and Jam croissant, a turkey pesto option, and our instant favorite, the Apple Cheddar Grilled Cheese on whole wheat bread embellished with a tangy red onion vinaigrette, and Dijon mustard.
