A new law goes into effect on Sunday prohibiting Texans under the age of eighteen from tanning. Salons oppose the new legislation, and one scientific advisors says, “If you’re going to tell people sunshine is bad for them, you may as well tell them air is harmful.”

Ten Texas films were screened at Sundance this year, so it’s no surprise a Texas-size celebration was held to honor these filmmakers and their films. The Texas party, hosted by the Austin Film Society and Texas Monthly, attracted a large and avid crowd of filmmakers, celebrities, and moviegoers. Click through to read more and view pictures.

After several legal twists, a three-judge panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that Texas can now block Planned Parenthood from its Women’s Health Program.
