FASHION

Shoes are an obsession here at FASHION. Sometimes comfort takes a backseat to the way they look, but we’re pleased to let you in on a happy intersection of the two in Farylrobin shoes. Surprising combinations from a palette of bright colors such as red, magenta, and turquoise—and black too—make for eye-popping gems, but we also appreciate the elements of design. The classic black Warrior is a less strappy take on the typical gladiator sandal but goes beyond with its slow crawl above the ankle. The Bing in sea-glass green looks just as cozy as a flat but gives a little lift with its gold rim and slight height in the heel. Available online at Farylrobin; or check out the selections at Hemline in Houston, The Woodlands, and Sugar Land.

Tiffany & Co.
Sunday, May 11, is the day to celebrate Mom, and may we suggest the gold locket and heart pendant necklace from Tiffany? First to cause a commotion will be the robin’s-egg-blue box it comes in. Next, the engraved monogram that lets her know you had some forethought. Third, the tiny picture of her beloved nestled in the oval egg of a locket. Hugs and kisses are sure to ensue.

Spartan and Bow + Arrows
I was in Austin last month and had the chance to step into two new stores in town, both on South Lamar. Currie Person, the proprietress of Spartan, a lovely home accents and lifestyle store, stocks her sleek, hip-level shelves with Hayden-Harnett bags, Kevin Patrick McCarthy lighting that can be custom-ordered, and our travel-obsessive fave, Bree luggage—lovely brown and gray felt suitcases lined in candy-bright colors. Pop over next door to Bows + Arrows (there is an always-open entryway from within the two stores) to scoop up the likes of A.P.C., Repetto flats, Ernest Swen, and Trovata.
