Tod’s
If you haven’t seen enough of our favorite thoughtful blonde, Gwyneth Paltrow, splashed across magazine covers lately, we’re happy to give you a sneak peek at the fall Tod’s campaign that launches next month. Shot in Capri by famed photographer Mario Testino, the highly stylized pictures of Paltrow conjure up images of Hollywood’s 1940s heyday. If an overnight to Capri isn’t in the cards for you, then maybe a pink lizard clutch and matching wrist cuff in pink python and calfskin can assuage those wanderlust woes.

Crave Cupcakes
Single-serve snacks got a dose of sophistication at the recently opened Crave Cupcakes in Houston (1151 Uptown Park, 713-622-7283). The interior of the boutique bakery is a showcase of midcentury design, with white concrete floors and espresso-brown walnut shelving paired with pendant lighting and stainless steel school-cafeteria-style milk dispensers. More than twenty cupcakes made with Texas dairy products, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, and European chocolate are available daily, with standout flavors such as mint chocolate and cranberry orange. We can’t wait until fall, when we’re sure to be in line for hot cocoa topped with chunky artisan marshmallows.

Kenneth Cole
I know it’s silly, with the sweltering heat and all, but I’m already filling my files with stacks of tear sheets of fall must-haves. The first of which is this slouchy ribbed gray two-tone cowl-neck from Kenneth Cole. Not just for your neck, mind you, but when worn over your head, it’s a tad Little Edie Beale/Grey Gardens mixed with a touch of Mary Kate boho chic. Love it, want it, need it.

The Pin Show
Thursday, July 10, will bring a slew of fashion and accessory designers to Dallas for the Pin Show at the Door in Deep Ellum. This independent buyers’ market will host Texas designers such as House of Dang, L. Weatherread, and Cooper by Courtney Warren and a select preview of items from local design students. Tickets are $10, and a list of all designers is at thepinshow.com.
