June's must-attend concerts, shows, and festivals.

ARANSAS PASS

Fruit of the Sea
As Bubba Blue explained to Forrest Gump, shrimp is a versatile ingredient (“You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it”) and the star of many dishes (“Shrimp kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo”), many of which will turn up at the 65th Annual Shrimporee.
Johnson Community Park, June 14–16, aransaspass.org

AUSTIN

Hog the Road
Brave the roar and rumble of the Guinness-certified Longest Parade of Motorcycles as it snakes toward downtown for the largest biker party to be held in a city, and then head over to the Republic of Texas Biker Rally site to ogle hot rods, get inked, or watch daredevils zoom around the Globe of Death.
Travis County Expo Center, June 13–16,  rotrally.com

DALLAS

Screen Test
The Oak Cliff Film Festival entered a saturated film-festival market last year, but it proved its worth by hosting clever programs—like a Bonnie and Clyde tour—and will further distinguish itself this year with a screening of Terry Southern’s lost movie, End of the Road.

PECOS

Get a Rope
Celebrate the cowhand’s long history of showing off his or her ranching skills at the 130th iteration of the West of the Pecos Rodeo, supposedly the first one of its kind, a claim that can be studied at the new Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame fourteen blocks away.
Buck Jackson Arena, June 26–29, pecosrodeo.com

WICHITA FALLS

Swing Low
Wear broken-in boots to the Legends of Western Swing Music Festival, because three days and nights of four bands—including Redd Volkaert, the Texas Playboys, and Ray Price—playing two sets each equals a whole lot of two-stepping.
