Update: Today, Musgraves was nominated for three more American Country Music Awards: Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year (as both producer and artist). Other Texans nominated: Musgraves’s fellow east Texan and family friend Miranda Lambert, in five categories (including Female Vocalist of the year, where she’ll be up against Musgraves), and the Eli Young Band. Musgraves will perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight.

There’s been some news on the Kacey Musgraves front since Andy Langer profiled her for us recently. She and Sunny Sweeney, a onetime Austinite who used to sing at the Poodle Dog Lounge, have been nominated for the Best New Female Vocalist prize at the Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be held April 7. And Mercury Records has announced that Musgraves’s debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, will come out on March 19th.

And by the way, if you’re one of the many people who have watched the official video for her hit single “Merry Go Round,” here’s a live version of the song she did last summer at a Philadelphia radio station, in which she looks even more like actress Rashida Jones than I already thought she did.
