Just in time for the holidays, 18 Hands Gallery, 249B West 19th St. in the Heights, will be participating in "Holiday on 19th," a favorite shopping event for Heights residents, on Friday, December 5th from 6-10pm. Refreshments will be served while a Zydeco band livens up the festivities.

The 18 Hands artists will be turning out a whole new batch of fresh work in time for the holiday season, and it will all be on display at 18 Hands Gallery during the month of December. With 31 artists in total, there will be a vast array of both functional and art pieces representing many different techniques and styles of the 18 Hands artists. “You can’t really compare a mass-made object to holding a piece of handcrafted pottery in your hand,” says Karen Cruce, an 18 Hands owner and participating artist. “There’s something so special about a handmade gift selected especially for you for both the giver and the receiver. And sometimes you actually get to meet the artists as well.”

This place has to be the best bbq in Texas. Forget all that other dried up bbq that just has history to rave about. This place has the juiciest beef, the most tender ribs, and the best sauce I’ve ever had. It would blow those other 50 places away. I hope to see it next year in the top 50

The Great Fire Ball of Depression

The Fear Monger Boogie is growing ever louder and wilder in Our Global Streets as We All shake and shimmy, while staring mesmerized and petrified, at the oncoming Great Fire Ball of Depression careening Our Way. Everyone is Dancing the Jiggity-Jig of Anxiety-Ridden Uncertainty and terrified of Everything spinning and spiraling into (burnt to a crisp) Oblivion.
