At H-E-B, the responsibility to take care of Texas extends far beyond their own aisles. H-E-B loves this state and is committed to ensuring it is just as great 100 years from now as it is today. Our Texas, Our Future is H-E-B’s promise to help conserve and protect Texas’s land, water, and air: through how they source products and what they carry, to how they manage food waste and recycling, to investing in renewable energy and partnerships with local environmental organizations like Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation (TPWF). Supporting the conservation of Texas’s wild spaces is one of the key components of H-E-B’s sustainability journey. That’s why they’ve donated $1 million in support of the Texas State Parks Centennial, so that all Texans can enjoy and experience the beauty of the outdoors.
There are 88 Texas state parks to discover, covering nearly 600,000 acres that help connect families to nature and provide access to outdoor recreation such as hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and picnicking. From exploring the second-largest canyon in the United States at Palo Duro Canyon, to paddling amongst the lush cypress trees at Caddo Lake, to splashing in the waves at Mustang Island, there is a state park for everyone.
Spanning 10 ecoregions, Texas State Parks help conserve Texas’s wild beauty too: nearly 800 species of fish, 634 species of birds, and over 4,600 species of native plants can be found here. In fact, the fastest land mammal in North America is a Texas native and is found in our state parks. The pronghorn can clock in up to 89 mph and found in the TransPecos deserts and high plains of the Panhandle.

H-E-B is also proud partners with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation through their new clean and green product line, Field & Future by H-E-B. Field & Future helps support programs like:
Building Palo Pinto Mountains State Park

North Texas
Located 75 miles west of the Dallas/Fort Worth area lays 5,000 acres of rambling hills and stunning vistas. Field & Future is helping support the creation of this new state park, which will open late 2023, with activities such as fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and camping.
Black Bear Restoration

West Texas
Once extirpated from the area, Black Bears have naturally been restored. Field & Future will help fund research and outreach to understand their habitat needs, monitor their expansion, and foster coexistence with humans.
Coastal Conservation

Texas Gulf Coast
More than 23,000 acres at Powderhorn Ranch and Matagorda Peninsula help protect wildlife habitats for sea turtles and dozens of bird species. In addition to conserving habitat for hundreds of species, this area is also the site of a future state park.

*Field & Future is made with recycled or recyclable content, biodegradable formulas, or plant-based ingredients and without over 165 harsh chemicals.
