Texas A&M may be off the University of Texas football schedule, but Longhorns-Aggies hatred transcends conferences (and even sports).

The question is, now that the Aggies find themselves playing a team ALL Texans can hate–Oklahoma–will Horns fans have a good thought for their in-state rival, whose watchword is to #bthoOU, rather than #beatOU? Or would the Burnt Orange Nation rather swallow their disgust for all things Sooner and cheer on the Big 12 team against the SEC, never mind what state the SEC school is from?

Of course, some Horns fans may leave the TV off entirely.

Via Storify, a grab-bag of funny, bitter and Texas-proud responses when we posed a (shorter) version of this question:

For the record, when we counted up the tweets (not just the ones featured here), the final tally was 41 per cent rooting for Oklahoma (or at least, refusing to root for A&M), 31 per cent pulling for the Aggies and 28 per cent opting for “sinkhole” (or just expressing apathy).
