Sarah Rutledge is Texas Monthly’s copy chief. Originally from Fort Worth, she enjoys crosswords, baking, and cats. In high school, a state UIL judge called Sarah’s clarinet playing “pedantic,” but joke’s on him because now she copyedits, an occupation where pedantry is (usually) valued.
