I received this e-mail today from Alexis DeLee, the press secretary for Speaker Craddick:
Dear Paul,
Your most recent blog posting, “Plan B,” that would call for Tom Craddick to abdicate the speakership for another candidate and your vote count are categorically wrong.
Speaker Craddick has shown that he holds the pledges necessary to win the Speaker’s Race on January 9, and any indication to the contrary is hearsay and erroneous. We continue to increase our numbers while our opponents have simply stated that they have the votes to win without a shred of evidence to support the claim.
In the future, I would hope you would be inclined to call our office to allow a comment before posting such a blatantly incorrect report.
