El Paso to Receive Homeland Security Funds
Washington, D.C. – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced that El Paso is among 45 communities nationwide eligible for funds under the FY2007 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant program. This is the first time that El Paso has been included in the program. Congressman Silvestre Reyes, D-El Paso, has been working since the grant program’s inception in fiscal 2003 to ensure that cities like El Paso are eligible for these funds.
