Rick Perry and the House appear to be on a collision course. The chatter is increasing around the Capitol that if the Transparency Committee continues on its course to impeach Wallace Hall, the governor will call the Legislature into a series of special sessions this summer, presumably on transportation.

I don’t think for a minute that Perry makes idle threats, but I find this one to be unlikely. As we know, Perry is running for president, and the last thing he wants is to have to deal with potentially embarrassing issues while the House is in session and he is running for high office. Second, he doesn’t want the Transparency Committee looking into his own business.
