The only two media outlets in Texas that subscribed to (if that is the proper term) SurveyUSA, WOAI in San Antonio and KEYE in Austin, no longer participate. I will not be able to provide monthly approval rankings for President Bush, senators Hutchison and Cornyn, and Governor Perry. I spoke with the general manager of a station that had previously dropped SurveyUSA, and she told me that the service was extremely expensive and she had serious reservations about the accuracy of polling by robocalls.

I have had my own reservations about SurveyUSA, particularly when it has identified major swings in job approval numbers that occurred without any particular reason. Nevertheless, it was the only source of data that could provide any trend information about Texas going into an election year.

If any Texas pollsters are willing to leak–er, share–ACCURATE numbers, I’ll post them.
