I first found this pizza place for a photo assignment for a past job. The family-owned restaurant wowed me with its Neapolitan style pizza (thin crust is the only way to go). Salvation Pizza is a fitting name for the red house on 34th street in Austin.

Liz Mahoney and family only serve pizza and salad, no spaghetti or lasagna. Of course there is wine and beer and local Live Oak is on tap. They have 10 specialty pizzas. My favorites are number #1, take on margherita with fresh basil, garlic, tomatoes and cheese. My other love is #7 with fresh basil, feta, artichoke hearts, red onion, and black olives. And I have no doubt that my sister’s favorite Hawaiian pizza would be loved as well.
Now it is gutsy that the only other thing served is a mixed green salad, but they offer two dressings- a sun-dried tomato vinaigrette and an italian. The sun-dried tomato is amazing. I loved it. No doubt, I will be visiting there again soon.
