The San Antonio Book Festival is a FREE, annual, daylong event that unites readers and writers in a celebration of ideas, books, libraries, and literary culture, bringing books to life through author presentations, innovative panel discussions, and book sales and signings. Also included in this fun day of literary entertainment are family activities such as children’s theater performances, a technology area, interactive play and art stations, and a selection of the city’s famous food trucks.
Featuring more than 90 authors, the Festival offers programming for all ages. Past authors have included Jorge Ramos, Jason Reynolds, Paula Poundstone, Francisco Cantú, Mark Updegrove, Erika L. Sánchez, Sandra Cisneros, Ann Patchett, Pam Muñoz Ryan, Amor Towles, Juan Felipe Herrera, Luis Alberto Urrea, Nathan Hale, and Kendare Blake. Entering its 7th year, the San Antonio Book Festival is the signature program of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.
