Austin Originals Benefit Concert and Live Stream with Asleep at the Wheel

August 19, 2017 — Austin, TX

On Saturday, August 19, 2017 the Austin Child Guidance Center will be hosting the 6th Annual Austin Originals Benefit Concert and Live Stream at ACL Live at the Moody Theater; featuring the ten-time Grammy Award-winning band Asleep at the Wheel. For 66 years, the Center has been dedicated to improving children’s mental health, each year serving over 3,500 children and family members regardless of their ability to pay.

This year’s Austin Originals Benefit Concert will welcome up to 600 supporters. Guests will enjoy the Lexus of Austin & Lakeway “Austin Originals” Tasting Grove featuring 8 amazing local restaurants and an open bar during the reception. Our emcee for the evening will be Terry Lickona, Executive Producer of Austin City Limits! Honorary Co-Chairs, Colin Pope, Editor of the Austin Business Journal and Heather McKissick of University Federal Credit Union are extremely dedicated to elevating the brand of our signature event and generating funds to provide quality mental health services to underserved children.

All funds generated will improve the emotional well-being of children and families in need in our community. When lower-income Travis County children experience difficult emotional issues, the Austin Child Guidance Center is there to guide them through depression, anxiety, abuse, neglect, ADHD, bullying and trauma. Childhood behavioral health issues can have devastating consequences on children and our community, which contribute to academic failure, substance abuse, poverty into adulthood and juvenile delinquency.
