Join the City of Corsicana as they wrap up their year-round celebration of the city’s 175th anniversary at their time capsule ceremony. Mark your calendars for October 12th from 5:30-9 p.m. for a free event to the public in downtown Corsicana by the Corsicana Government Center. Visitors can expect food trucks, special commemorative merchandise for sale, special speakers including Sylvia Navarro-Tillotson, great-great-great granddaughter of Jose Antonio Navarro, a Tejano patriot and one of the founders of Texas who also helped to establish Corsicana in 1848. Special pieces will be presented and on display that will be placed in the time capsule to be opened at Corsicana’s 200th celebration in 25 years. The evening will also include live music by Emerald City Band, known as the house band of Dallas, who bring a non-stop energy that drives their audience to the dance floor. It’s a historical evening that you want to add to your fall travel must-do list!
