Texas Football gamedays are still the center of the “Live Music Capital of the World” with Longhorn City Limits presented by ATX Web Designs, the gameday concert series on the LBJ Lawn. This season, LCL sees the addition of the Deep Eddy Lounge, a brand new cocktail garden featuring unique Texas-themed drinks for fans 21+. In addition, fans have the opportunity to get photos with the new Longhorn City Limits oversized guitar monument and exclusive LCL merchandise at the Texas Longhorns Official Team Shop.
Jessica Newham, known as Betty Who, headlines Longhorn City Limits presented by ATX Web Designs at 10 a.m. prior to the Texas Football vs. K-State game. The Australian singer-songwriter has climbed the pop charts over her 10-year professional career behind singles “Somebody Loves You,” “All of You,” and “I Love You Always Forever.” Known for her high-energy performances, fans can look forward to her powerful pop anthems including cuts from her latest album “Betty” released in January 2019.
Rounding out the Nov. 9 lineup is Bidi Bidi Banda, Austin’s first all-star Selena tribute band. Led by native Austinite Stephanie Bergara, the group is comprised by members of many of the city’s premier Latin bands. Their performance of Selena’s greatest hits always get the crowds off their feet and screaming as they page homage to the Queen of Tejano Music.
Longhorn City Limits is free and open to the public; lawn chair and picnic blanket friendly (no dogs, please); and no game ticket is required.
Bevo Blvd., Smokey’s Midway and Longhorn City Limits close 30 minutes prior to kickoff to allow fans with game tickets time to enter the stadium to see the Longhorn Band’s pregame performance.
Inside the stadium, Texas Athletics has added even more ‘fan first’ pricing on concessions. The 2018 menu featured lower prices on 10 total items, while the 2019 offering expands to include 22 of the most popular gameday concessions items at an average discount of 30%. The ‘fan first’ pricing allows a family of four to purchase a typical gameday meal for $28 or less.
