If you’ve got the bait, and a bit of patience, chances are the fish will be bitin’ in New Mexico. The state claims some of the most hallowed trout waters in North America, especially in the San Juan River. But that’s not the only catch to be had – panfish, bass, catfish, northern pike and walleye are also abundant. But it’s not just the abundance of fish that attracts sportsman of all skill levels to the state. It’s also the favorable weather conditions that make catching some time on the water a reality pretty much any time of the year. And of course, the likelihood of reeling in a bevy of 20-inchers doesn’t hurt.
