The State Fair of Texas becomes an even more magical experience once the sun goes down and the lights go up on the Midway and the Chevrolet Main Stage. Check out these not to-miss activities after 5 p.m.

The Starlight Parade: The nightly illuminated parade makes its way through the grounds each night beginning at 7:15 p.m. Texas-themed and fun for the whole family; the Starlight Parade is a State Fair tradition. 


Mattress Firm Illumination Sensation: Each night at 8 p.m., the Esplanade becomes the backdrop for a light and water show like no other.  Complete with dancers and pyrotechnics, this show is a salute to Texas and the traditions of the State Fair.


Texas Star Ferris wheel: There are few places in the Fair that give you a better vantage point to see Fair Park and Dallas lit up at night.  The Texas Star Ferris wheel takes you 350 feet into the sky and allows you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fair.


The Midway: Walking through the Midway at night is truly something special. There’s nothing like the lights, sounds, and thrill of the Midway after dark. Whether or not you take a spin on a ride, just walking around makes you feel like you are at the center of a magical world.


Chevrolet Main Stage: With more than 85 acts on the Chevrolet Main Stage, there’s no shortage of live music to see at the State Fair. Check the daily schedule for a complete list of acts performing each evening.


Big Tex: If you think your family picture with Big Tex is great during the day, then wait until you see it with Texas’ friendly cowboy at night!
