No. 3 HEAVENER
821 HW 59 N.
For a meal that defies the ordinary, pull into Heavener for lunch at the Southern Belle. This Choctaw Country staple has been a favorite of families, kiddos, and kiddos at heart for years. After all, what’s not to love about dining in a refurbished train car?
What you’re getting:
Everything here is great, but the bacon cheddar fries and fried pickles (spears, not chips) get exceptional marks. Continue your tour de comfort food with the hand battered chicken. It’s the Southern Belle’s specialty, and plenty a patron has tried (and failed) to pry the secret sauce recipe from the lips of the owners. Naturally, it’s housemade, meaning you can only taste these homespun flavors in Choctaw Country. Before you leave, ask for a container to go. For dessert, hit the road with a slice of Butterfinger, chocolate, or strawberry pie. The flavors are endless here, but these three are our favorites.
We aren’t kidding about the vat of sauce. Don’t ask questions, and thank us later.
