Crown Royal has tasked bartenders across Texas to develop cocktails inspired by the places they call home. In this video series, we highlight three bartenders from Houston, Dallas, and Austin to learn new craft cocktail recipes featuring Crown Royal Fine De Luxe.

The Royaltea • Created in Austin, Texas

The Royaltea is inspired by the famous Fredericksburg peaches that Kate, a bartender in Austin, would pick as a kid. This craft cocktail blends black tea, lemon juice, peach, and Crown Royal Fine De Luxe to make a cool cocktail that will remind you of the Hill Country peach orchards.

Recipe:
  • 3 oz of Black Tea
  • 1.5 oz of Crown Royal Fine De Luxe
  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice
  • .75 oz Honey Syrup (1/2 cup of honey and 1/2 cup of water)

Combine peach slice, lemon juice, and honey syrup and gently muddle. Add Crown Royal Fine De Luxe into a shaker tin and shake. Pour over ice in a Collins glass and top it off with black tea. Garnish with a peach slice.

Banana in Pajamas • Created in Dallas, Texas

Gavin, a bartender in Dallas, shows us his inspired pairing of Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Whiskey with banana liqueur. This creamy craft cocktail is a refreshing drink with roots from his childhood. The banana liqueur and coconut milk coupled with Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Whiskey create a sweet and smooth finish.

Recipe:
  • 1.5 oz of Crown Royal Fine De Luxe
  • .75 oz Banana Liqueur
  • .75 oz Coconut Milk
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 oz Lemon Juice

Shaken, served in Collins glass, crushed ice, garnished with mint (or charred banana)

The Houstontini • Created in Houston, Texas

Franklin, a bartender who splits time bartending at a high-end restaurant in the River Oaks district and a nightclub in downtown Houston, puts a modern spin on a traditional cocktail with the “Houstontini.” It is inspired by the Washington Apple shots he remembers from 1980s dance clubs, and believes this cocktail captures the soul of Houston in every drop. His combination of clarified juices brightens the craft cocktail and adds more flavor than a traditional martini. He clarifies a mix of lemon, apple, and cranberry juices with an elderflower liqueur mixed to equal parts of Crown Royal Deluxe for a well-balanced cocktail.

Recipe:
  • 1.5 oz Crown Royal Fine De Luxe
  • 1.5 oz Clarified Juices – lemon juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and elderflower liqueur to taste. Clarification is the process of filtering out pulp and other particles from the juice.

Stir to combine. Garnish with a cherry.
