The best time to visit Athens is during Athens Old Fiddlers Reunion that always happens on the last weekend in May. During the weekend, we shut down two sides of our historic square and make it a weekend to remember! Over the years, the Fiddlers Reunion has turned into a two-day long festival with a carnival, street dances, live music, vendors, and the longest running fiddle competition in the state of Texas. After all, if you’re gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band!
