The Texas Optimism Project organized a campus speaker series at Texas universities to spark practical conversations about optimism. In 2018, we hosted events at four universities and discussion topics ranged from global health and entrepreneurship to mindfulness and creativity. This year, optimism was spread to students at Texas Christian University, St. Edwards University, The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Houston, and Baylor University.
Alex Snodgrass, TCU alumna and founder of the massively popular blog The Defined Dish, kicked off the 2019 campus series at TCU hosting a discussion about life after college, pursuing your passion, and using optimism to navigate “the real world.” Evelina Solis, founder of Sol2Soul, shared her story to incoming freshman at St. Edwards about her battle with a threatening illness and how it is teaching her to live life to the fullest. College students were also welcomed at events at UT Austin and Baylor with Optimism readings and walked away with custom swag.
