Coyote Lakes Golf Club has been rated as one of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play,” and features beautiful mountain views. With more than a dozen other gorgeous courses within driving distance, you could easily play a new course every day of your trip.
See the sunrise (or set) from 3,000 feet in the air
Fly high above the spectacular Arizona landscape in a hot air balloon and marvel at sprawling mountain ranges, saguaro cactus, cityscapes, and other wonders you’ll only find in the Sonoran Desert. Schedule a ride with Rainbow Ryders, Hot Air Expeditions, or one of the many hot air balloon companies in the Phoenix metro.
Try the local pubs and breweries
Close out an afternoon of baseball at State 48 Brewery, where you’ll enjoy local brews, cornhole, Jenga, and mouthwatering food from their full kitchen. For a Celtic-inspired vibe, check out Irish Wolfhound Pub and their excellent whiskey menu, Irish fare, live music, and billiards.
Eat Arizona’s favorite cuisine
Did you really go to Arizona if you didn’t try Sonoran cuisine? Visit Rio Mirage Café for some savory carne asada basted in lime and butter, or take a short 25-minute road trip to La Pasadita Hot Dogs and try a world-famous Sonoran hot dog—wrapped in bacon and smothered with toppings like beans and guacamole. Finish it off with a refreshing raspado, another delightful Arizona favorite that’s essentially a frozen, fruity, heavenly dessert.
Hike breathtaking landscapes
White Tank Mountain Regional Park, just southwest of Surprise, offers more than 30 miles of trails to explore, and you’ll see some of Arizona’s most unique plant and animal life up close, along with ancient petroglyphs and stunning vistas.
Enjoy live music and more
There’s a lot to do at Westgate Entertainment District, a popular hub for food and fun in Glendale, just a 20-minute drive to the east. Make your way to Fountain Park on Friday or Saturday night for live entertainment, drop by Fine Ash Cigars and relax with a beer and a new cigar, or laugh ‘til you cry at Stir Crazy Comedy Club. With dozens of eateries to choose from, it’s easy to spend a whole day here.
