Since 1990, we’ve welcomed millions of guests who’ve explored the amazing animals and habitats of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean at the Texas State Aquarium. But we’re far more than just an attraction. We rehabilitate injured animals, contribute to wildlife conservation, and educate guests.
Come, support, and visit sharks swimming in a 400,000-gallon exhibit, flamingos mingling, and two-toed sloths crawling in the jungle trees. Gaze into a colorful coral reef and watch a thrilling 4D movie with immersive special effects. The adventure continues with hands-on interactions with stingrays, sharks, jellies, and more. Cool off in our H-E-B Splash Park and enjoy dolphin presentations from above and below the water. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget!
We will host Washed up Texas Spring Break through Labor Day, which are large scale installations made from plastic washed ashore in South Texas. A National Geographic Traveling Exhibition, Planet or Plastic, is featured Memorial weekend through Labor Day. Both displays offer solutions and information to mitigate plastic waste and minimize single-use plastic consumption.
Since we are a not-for-profit aquarium, your admission here helps support all these important causes. The Aquarium is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
