These days, it can feel a little bit like there’s a holiday for everything. On the date this article is being written, a quick Google search reveals that it is “National Brush Day,” “National Calzone Day,” and “National Cook For Your Pet Day,” among others. However, amidst all of the silly celebrations, there are a few things truly worthy of a day’s appreciation; the kind folks who pour your drinks, keep you company, and listen to your woes for a fraction of the cost of therapy certainly fit the bill.

In honor of National Bartender Day, we’ve compiled five of our all-time favorite bourbon cocktail recipes from five of the best bartenders in the state from Garrison Brothers Bourbon Brawl 2019. Any one of these drinks is worth recreating at home, or better yet, pay a visit to their bars of origin and have the creators themselves whip one up for you. Just remember to tip—it is their day, after all.
