The Contemporary Austin knows how to throw a party, and now you can join one of the biggest in the museum’s history.
The museum’s next exhibition, Strange Pilgrims, is an impressive undertaking and will wow you with large-scale, participatory installations taking-over three venues: the museum’s Jones Center and Laguna Gloria sites, and the Visual Arts Center on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
Become a member today and join the party at the Members-Only Preview and Reception September 25 at The Contemporary Austin – Jones Center.
Strange Pilgrims begins with the notion of the traveler: an open-ended journey through time, space, imagination, perception, and the senses. Presenting fourteen internationally-renowned artists over three sites, Strange Pilgrims is an expansive exhibition that invites you to experience art through all of your senses – with “experiential art” that is at once immersive, participatory, performative, and kinetic.
Be among the first to see the exhibition, then climb to the museum’s stunning Roof Deck to celebrate with bites, drinks, music, and an unbeatable view of downtown Austin. A complimentary shuttle will take you between the Jones Center and UT’s Visual Arts Center, so you can easily experience more of this unique exhibition all in one night.
And, on September 26, museum members may meet some of the exhibition artists during a members-only preview and book signing at The Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria, the museum’s beautiful lakeside location.
