Dive In
Pool days are a necessity in Texas, especially when the temps start climbing.
If you’re looking for thrills and chills, head to the Frisco Athletic Center Water Park where seven features await, including the Preston Plunge and The Fort. It’s open through the end of September, and day passes are only $11 for youths, $13 for adults, and free for children 2 and under.
If nature is more your style, check out one of Frisco’s best kept secrets. Behind a seemingly normal outdoor playground you’ll find a hidden oasis—Limestone Quarry. A small creek runs clear, complete with a waterfall, swimming hole, and plenty of skipping rocks.
Be sure to get the most out of your hotel stay by taking a dip in the newly renovated pool at The Westin Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa, which now sports an adjacent bar called Ranch Water that features craft cocktails with regional spirits and light poolside fare.
Or take in the views from the rooftop pool at the Omni Frisco Hotel, which is located at The Star, a 91-acre entertainment district and headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys.
Sports City USA
Speaking of sports, Frisco is known as Sports City USA. So, when you’re here plan to catch a game.
The Frisco RoughRiders, the Texas Ranger’s AA affiliate, play April through September. Watching them play is truly unique. Riders Fields has won a number of design awards for its amenities, including the Lazy River, the first attraction of its kind at a professional sports stadium.
FC Dallas is Frisco’s Major League Soccer club and is an original MLS member. Attending a game with 10,000 of your closest soccer friends means you’ll see the next generation of US Men’s National Team superstars. The season runs February through October.
