There are a lot of good barbecue joints in College Station, but one of the newest is arguably the best. Four miles west of Easterwood Airport, on FM 60, you’ll come upon a rural lot that boasts a large metal storage building, a food truck, and a heavenly aroma that will make your appetite go from zero to 60 in nothing flat. The Doan family focus primarily on catering, but they make room for dine-in visitors on a large deck and inside the storage building. The brisket checks all the boxes: perfectly seasoned, smoky, tender, and moist. Meaty ribs with a slightly spicy rub share the same traits—you won’t need any barbecue sauce. Sides run to basics like potato salad, loaded mashed potatoes, pinto beans, and, our favorite, old-fashioned corn casserole.
