Dining Guide

5 Points Local

Crunchy? Make that 100 percent gluten-free, with paleo, vegan, and vegetarian options. This reincarnated brick building is home to farm-to-table offerings both regional (a barbacoa bowl featuring grass-fed beef braised for twelve hours and served over a delicately spiced sweet potato hash, fresh greens, and house-made salsa) and global (so-called Tikki Masala made with seasonal vegetables and served with Indian-style potato salad). Gyros (filled with either roasted local lamb or seasoned tempeh) are served with olives and greens and topped with beet hummus and the bright crunch of pickled red onions. Add-ons include grass-fed beef, Texas bacon, and free-range eggs. Need we mention that there is fancy coffee and a bakery, plus yoga upstairs? Owner Lisa Asvestas (of the Cove) and general manager Abby Johnson have crafted a peaceful haven, diverse, welcoming, and honest, where nary a pose is off balance.
