Alondra’s is a neighborhood gem, a modest place in an unassuming shopping center just inside the Garland city limits. But there’s nothing modest about chef Isaias Ramirez’s ambitions. The Querétaro native trained in high-end corporate kitchens, and his menu of American staples like burgers and ribeyes also includes tacos de nopalitos and calabacitas rellenas, as well as a good number of vegetarian and vegan options. Try this: the pan-seared salmon, grilled lamb chops, and beef roulade, all generous portions, all beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. You also won’t want to miss the ceviche, caprese salad, and (for dessert) the light fruit tart. Pro tip: Alondra’s is BYOB.
